I absolutely loved this book. I stayed up until 3 in morning and still had a hard time putting it down. I knew in the morning it was going to be rough getting up with my 5 year old and 1 year old, but it was worth the lack of sleep. I can't remember the last time I read a book that me feel so many different emotions... fantastic!!! I haven't cried like that over a book in I don't even know how long.

I thought you did a great job setting up all the characters. By the end of the book, I felt like I personally knew them all and loved them all. I am already nervous for them for what's to come. I can't wait for the next book. The suspense is killing me.

Anyway, thank you for being courageous enough to follow your dream and put your creative talent to good use for people like me who love to escape reality with a good book.

This was the best book ever!!! I couldn't put it down. It's about witch who was adopted to a mortal. When she grows up she learns the truth about her descendants and goes in search of the full truth. This leads her into a whole new way of life and into a world of the magic she never knew existed. Inside the story is a whole second story. The love story of her biological parents and the truth of why she was adopted
Like most paranormal romances, everyone in the story is absolutely stunning with perfect lives. in any other book it would be hard or ridiculous to read the same thing about every character; The perfect love, life and looks. But the author of this book is very good at setting this kind of backdrop without you getting sick of it. From the very beginning, this book pulls you in and then keeps you there wanting more. I got this book for free and totally see why it's free. Because after reading it, I am now going to buy the rest of the saga. I can't wait to see what happens next. This is a must read!! You won't regret it. But make sure you have the time. My poor kids were totally neglected for two days. Lol. They'll live )
Oh Em Gee. So, let me start this review by saying, "y'all get your tissues out because this one is a doozy!" Layla, oh Layla Love. The poor girl who has been dragged through the dirt since her mothers death is such a sweetheart. She is sad and hurting but you can tell she didn't used to be that way. Quin, hot, dreamy Quin. He is way to charismatic for his own good and I'll tell you what. I would have proposed the minute I met him. The story is touching, following Layla's internal struggle as she finds out her life was all a lie and she was adopted to be hidden from an ominous, unnamed danger. When she finally arrives in Cannon beach her outlook and her world change. She is thrust into a new world filled with beauty, magic and the horrible truth about her past.

Now I wasn't planning on it but I read this book in one sitting constantly alternating between wiping a tear and turning the page. The story was so eloquently written I couldn't help but continue, my eyes craving each word. Every description was magically better than the last. By the halfway point in the book I knew I would not be able to stop until the end. The story filled me with emotions I have never felt from a book, I could feel the unbelievable love of a family and the pain of Layla's loss. I am trying really hard right now not to spoil anything so let me just finish with. If you like magic, romance, humor, love, adventure, shy MC's, hot boys or hell just books YOU HAVE TO READ THIS SERIES!!!!!
Descension has a pretty solid start with well rounded and developed characters. I actually thought I would be giving this book a better rating, but it fizzled out at the end and pretty much came to an abrupt halt.

Layla is a 21 year old small town girl whose world has crumbled with the loss of her mom.

She soon discovers that she was left a significant inheritance along with a few other surprises.

After some convincing from her quirky friends, Layla embarks on a journey of self discovery that opens her eyes to a world of magic and wonder...

Quin has been dreaming of the perfect woman his entire life, but he never expected her to show up one day...

The over all feel of the story was very "cute." It wasn't a crazy thrill ride, though there were some heart-wrenching moments, but because of the cuteness, it lost some of the realistic appeal I so enjoy in fiction. Nonetheless, it started out quite enjoyable.

My qualm with Descension is

**SPOILERS BELOW***

By the time you're engrossed in the book, the story takes a complete different turn and goes on a ten chapter tangent about Layla's birth parents. While they are admittedly important to the story, it was almost like putting down one book and jumping into a love story in another. What was drawn out across ten chapters should have, in my opinion, been condensed to one, maybe two. At most. Is it really necessary to present the reader with the entire dialogue of Aedan and Rhosewen's meeting and life together from start to finish? It was pretty dull and repetitive since we were already given glimpses of their story through other characters. The scene that took three pages for him to pick her oh so obvious nickname "Rose" was a bit too much. Not only that, their story was littered with awkward dialogue and events just came one after another after another in absolutely maddening perfect sequence.

I'm still not sure about the Unforgivables and what makes them so Unforgivable... Other than we're told they do unforgivable things. Their villainy doesn't even make a solid appearance until the very end... Where everything abruptly stops and continues in the next book.

Lastly, the story of Aedan and Rhosewen seriously overshadowed that of Layla and Quin. By the time we get back to our MAIN characters, their story fizzles into a cuddling session and cuts to the final story line of the book.

I would say that I feel cheated out of a story, but it was more like a glimpse into the beginnings of a story.

As a free book, it was more than worth the read... Maybe the following books are more substantial.
